There is nothing quite like BOSCA. I walk away with valuable information every time I attend that I can bring back to impact my university and student-athletes. As a small school administrator at any level, one can relate to the challenges and successes that are presented year in and year out. I can attest that this conference has had a profound impact on my career advancement. It is a fabulous networking experience and you are able to have such meaningful individual and small group conversation that is found nowhere else. Anyone looking to enhance, build, or even start their career path in this field must attend BOSCA. Kudos to Jim Abbott for creating what has become the signature professional development opportunity for small college athletic administrators. Brian Sisson Athletic Director - St. Mary's University

The beauty and value of attending BOSCA is that it is ‘right-sized’ for every institution. There are finite resources and opportunities on all of our campuses, but there is no ceiling on learning, sharing, and implementing innovative best practices. BOSCA does this in an efficient and open format that fosters immediate takeaways and results. Tim McMurray Athletic Director - Texas A&M University - Commerce

This workshop was one of the most productive, and collaborative events I have ever attended. I would recommend this to anyone in the industry no matter if they were new to the position or have been working more than 20 years. You’re going to get something out of this that will help propel your program forward. Chris Anderson Director of Athletic Giving - Clarion University

BOSCA was one of the best workshops I have ever attended. I would describe the experience as 'hands on'. The presentations were interactive and allowed for both the presenters and the attendees to share best practices as well as engage in problem solving discussions. As a first time AD and BOSCA attendee, I felt welcomed. I found it was very easy to network and ask questions. Everyone that attended was more than willing to share their ideas and talk with you to help develop your own Traci Murphy Athletic Director - Daemen College

The BOSCA workshop is such a great experience for any athletic administrator in a small college setting. Not only are all of the sessions geared toward applicable topics for the smaller schools, but there is also great opportunity to interact with other administrators in similar situations. The opportunity for sharing and collaborative ideas at this conference are second to none. Jacob Ripple Athletic Director - Dodge City Community College

At a time when I'm experiencing budget cuts that directly affect the professional development money allotted for myself, this conference is one I will continue to prioritize as the most influential conference I attend each year. The networking and practical tips that I have learned as a part of BOSCA has transformed our athletic department over the past 2 years. Jim is very intentional about who presents and it shows each year. This is not a conference in which you walk away with some theories, it is one in which you walk away with actual ideas you can take to your campus and implement immediately. The presenters and attendees are open books. Professional colleagues truly trying to help one another. As a relatively young AD, this is the greatest conference I have attended and would encourage anyone who finds themselves needing additional revenue for their department in any way to attend. It's one you won't regret and at a very reasonable price. Tony Hoops Athletic Director - Bethel College

My first BOSCA conference exceeded all expectations. Any time you can network with and learn from other professionals in intercollegiate athletics, it's an invaluable experience. What sets BOSCA apart, however, is the opportunity to do so with individuals who have similar resources and infrastructure - in other words, we 'speak the same language. I would encourage anyone to attend. You won’t be disappointed. Rob Chaney Athletic Director - Tallahassee Community College

It was recommended to me by a colleague to attend BOSCA a few years back and I've been grateful for the introduction, opportunity and experience ever since. The atmosphere and environment is comfortable, refreshing, and welcoming. Sanctioning body affiliation (NCAA, NAIA, NJCAA, etc.) is irrelevant; sharing, learning and inquiry is emphasized. Once you attend and on subsequent visits you feel as though you are a part of a fraternity. Unlike some of the national conferences and conventions you may attend, all BOSCA attendees become your network by virtue of being in an engaged small group setting. Attendance at the conference has had a real and measurable impact on our institutions trajectory as it relates to leadership, fundraising planning and initiatives. We will be back! The Business of Small College Athletics workshop is a must for all small college athletic administrators! With peers from around the country sharing their knowledge about their do's and don'ts at the small college level, the resources you leave with can be applied directly to your current institution right away. Perhaps the best takeaway are the connections that you form over the two days with fellow attendees. Those connections turn into resources and have been a luxury to have and be able to call and discuss current trends, ideas or issues that might come about. Well worth the time and investment to attend! Michael Feuling Asst. AD for Development - Western Oregon University
