The Business of Small College Athletics (BOSCA) announced today the addition of Tony Hoops, Vice President for Athletics at Northwestern College (IA) to their Advisory Board.
Hoops is a BOSCA veteran having participated in the summer workshop as both an attendee and presenter on multiple occasions. Hoops also served on the steering committee for the first-ever BOSCA regional workshop that was held in Kansas City in February 2023.
“Tony is a rising star in collegiate athletic administration and I’m excited to have him joining our advisory board,” said BOSCA Founder Jim Abbott. “Tony’s experience, drive for professional growth, and determination to give back to the profession make him a great fit as BOSCA continues to evolve and endeavors to provide the best professional development opportunities for small college athletic administrators.”
“Tony is a well-respected athletic director who has had much professional success”, said Rockhurst University athletic director and BOSCA board member Kristy Bayer. “He has been a loyal contributor and supporter of BOSCA through the years. His insights, strategies, and leadership will be a welcome addition to the board.”
Hoops was named Vice President for Athletics at Northwestern College (IA) in August of 2023. He leads a department with 22 varsity sports that annually compete for GPAC and NAIA championships. Prior to his current position Hoops served as Director of Athletics at Bethel College (KS) for six years.
“It is an honor to join a distinguished group of innovative athletic industry leaders on the BOSCA board, said Hoops. BOSCA has influenced my professional growth more than anything else within my career path as an AD. I look forward to giving back and enhancing this great organization to impact our great small college sports industry just like it has impacted mine.”
