UCO Deputy AD will provide strategic insights for BOSCA offerings.

The Business of Small College Athletics (BOSCA) announced today the addition of Chandler Short, Deputy Athletic Director/SWA at the University of Central Oklahoma, to their Advisory Board.

Short is a rising star in collegiate athletics and has already served BOSCA in multiple ways including leading presentations at the BOSCA Convention and participating as a guest presenter during BOSCA academies. In her role as a BOSCA advisory board member, Short will provide input on strategic priorities for the organization and help grow professional development initiatives.

“I’m so excited to have Chandler Short joining the BOSCA advisory board,” said BOSCA Founder Jim Abbott. “Chandler has a great grasp of the priorities for BOSCA and I’m certain that she will bring her own ideas and initiatives that profoundly impact our direction moving forward.”

Short spent 6 years working in athletic administration at her alma mater, McPherson College. She held positions as the Assistant Athletic Director/SWA and as Athletic Director during that time. In 2023, Short joined the staff at the University of Central Oklahoma where she leads the efforts for UCO’s corporate sales and marketing programs, and alumni relations, while providing oversight to multimedia and communications in addition to serving as SWA. Short has a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in higher education with an emphasis in Intercollegiate Athletic Administration and a doctorate from Southern Methodist University in higher education.

"BOSCA has been at the forefront of advancing professional development in small college athletics, and I am excited to serve as a board member,” said Short.  “As our industry continues to evolve, it’s essential that we adapt our approach to professional growth, ensuring it aligns with the dynamic needs of the field."
