Spring events to be held in Southern California and Kansas City

The Business of Small College Athletics (BOSCA) announced today the dates and locations of two planned Spring 2025 Regional workshops.

BOSCA Regional workshops are one-day professional development and networking events that are designed for athletic administrators at small colleges and universities in a region. The workshops are organized by a group of peer administrators that represent schools in the region and offer an affordable opportunity for growth and interaction with relevant topics and presenters.

“The biggest challenge that administrators have when it comes to professional development is the cost, said BOSCA Founder Jim Abbott.” “Regional workshops provide departments the opportunity to bring multiple administrators to learn and interact with peers.”

Since 2023, BOSCA has organized successful regional workshops in multiple locations around the country. The Spring 2025 regional workshops will be held in Southern California and Kansas City.

Monday, February 3, 2025 Vanguard University

Registration is open now for the Southern California regional workshop which will be held in Costa Mesa, CA on the campus of Vanguard University.

"The BOSCA name and reputation has grown across the country over the past decade, and we're excited that it is coming to Southern California for the first time,” said Gary Pine, Athletic Director at Azusa Pacific University. “With so many colleges and universities in the area, this BOSCA event will be highly engaging and impactful to so many working in the college sports industry."

“BOSCA has had a tremendous impact on my career,” said Jeff Bussell, Athletic Director at Vanguard University. “The events have been transformational in the development of athletic administrators across the country. I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to bring BOSCA to the West Coast and host at Vanguard University.”

Monday, February 17, 2025 – MidAmerica Nazarene University

Registration is now open for the regional workshop which will be held in Olathe, KS on the campus of MidAmerica Nazarene University. This event is designed for administrators at D2, D3, NAIA, and 2-year schools in Kansas City region.

““I’m very much looking forward to the BOSCA Regional Workshop in Kansas City,” said Andy Peterson, Athletic Director at Northwest Missouri State University. Every time I attend a BOSCA event I take away something that positively impacts how I operate as an athletic director, challenges my thinking, and gets me thinking strategically. It’s so easy to get lost in the day-to-day work of our athletic worlds - especially during the winter when it seems everything is happening all at once - so I’m excited to have that strategic mindset refreshed again this year, learn from my peers, and continue to build our network of small college athletic departments throughout the region.”

“We are excited to welcome back BOSCA to the Kansas City area,” said Kristy Bayer, Athletic Director at Rockhurst University. “BOSCA is an excellent way for our institutions to get affordable professional development opportunities on topics that really resonate with what we deal with at the small college level.”

In its 13th year, BOSCA exists to provide professional development and growth opportunities to athletic administrators at D2, D3, NAIA, and NJCAA colleges and universities. BOSCA provides multiple in-person workshops annually, virtual growth opportunities through the BOSCA Leadership Academy and BOSCA Revenue Generation Academy, and campus consulting services among other offerings.
